Young Netflix sensation tragically murdered in a brutal machete attack at the age of 23
The popular Netflix personality, Kevin Muñoz, tragically lost his life at the tender age of 23, succumbing to a vicious machete assault. His lifeless body was found in Tulua city, bound with hands and feet tied together.
Tragic news emerges as Colombian actor Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar, aged 23, has been discovered deceased in La Playita, Tuluá, Valle del Cauca. Initial reports suggest a suspected armed robbery as the cause.
The distressing scene revealed the young actor with bound hands and feet, bearing numerous wounds believed to be inflicted by a machete. Local media have also indicated signs of blunt force trauma preceding his demise.
Nicolás Suárez, the head of local police, has confirmed the arrest of an unnamed 19-year-old on suspicion of the murder. Speaking to Noticias RCN, Suárez stated, “The Valle Police Department acted swiftly following citizen-provided information, leading to the apprehension of a 19-year-old believed to have been involved in the tragic homicide of Kevin Andres Munoz Tovar, a prominent figure in Colombian cinema.”
After causing injuries, the culprits fled the scene, but thanks to information from the community, one of them was apprehended.
Kevin, a rising star in the acting world, made his mark in the 2020 Netflix film “Lavaperros” (known as “Dogwashers” in English), showcasing his talent in a dark comedy revolving around a struggling drug lord.
His appearance in the 2022 Apple TV+ thriller “Echo 3,” alongside Michiel Huisman, Luke Evans, and Jessica Collins, further cemented his growing reputation.
Additionally, he featured in an episode of the Colombian streaming show “Turbia,” depicting the struggles of communities grappling with water shortages during a prolonged drought.
Tragically, Kevin’s death marks the 11th recorded murder in Tulua this year. Tributes have flooded in for the late actor, with heartfelt messages expressing sorrow and shock at the loss.
“Absolutely devastated… My heart goes out to his family during this unimaginable pain,” wrote one mourner.
“Such a tragedy… Rest in peace, dear soul. This news is utterly heartbreaking,” added another.
Others took to social media to mourn, one stating, “It’s with profound sadness that I learnt of Kevin Andrés Muñoz Tovar’s violent passing. He portrayed Yoiner in ‘Lavaperros.’ A talent lost too soon at 23. May he rest in peace.”
In response, someone expressed, “It’s heartbreaking, the persistent violence affecting us all in this country. Such a terrible loss.”
Another poignant remark reflected on the tragic irony, saying, “How cruel that his life mirrored ‘El Pecoso’s’ fate in the movie. Reality, indeed, surpasses fiction.”
