A Professional Poker Player

Victoria has etched her name in poker history on multiple occasions, achieving a significant milestone in 2014 by becoming the first person to win the European Poker Tour twice. The mother of two has amassed an impressive £1.5 million through her prowess in the card game, revealing an intriguing contrast between her various interests.

She once shared with PokerStarsBlog that she’s been known to stay up until 6am, indulging in smoking, drinking, and gambling. “But I also enjoy cooking and gardening,” Victoria pointed out, “which gives me a bit of an unusual blend – somewhere between an old lady and a teenage boy.” In 2016, she was honoured to be inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.

Venturing into Adult Film

Following her role as a reviewer of adult films for the Erotic Review, Victoria collaborated with her friend Charlie Skelton on an adult film they named “Naughty Twins.” The film was privately screened for friends, colleagues, and some familiar faces from the television world. The Independent described it as “intricately woven,” highlighting a particularly captivating “lesbian bath scene, featuring a muscular plumber entering the room with an oversized wrench, checking his pager, then saying, ‘Oh dear, wrong day!’ before promptly leaving.”

Victoria and Charlie chronicled the process of creating the film in their book “Once More, with Feeling: How We Tried to Make the Greatest Adult Film Ever.” Drawing from their experiences as journalists for the Erotic Review, the book recounts the time they spent researching and filming the project.

An Unexpected Matchmaker Introduces Her to David

Reflecting on her initial encounter with Peep Show host David Mitchell, Victoria admitted she had a hunch within hours that they would eventually marry. Introduced by fellow comedian David Baddiel at a film premiere in 2007, Victoria recalled, “He specifically said to me, ‘There’s David Mitchell over there, I think you should probably marry him, I’ll get the ball rolling by introducing you.’ I thought that was absurd, but a couple of hours later, I thought I might actually marry him.”

The couple didn’t start dating until three years later, but they soon tied the knot and later welcomed their daughter Barbara.

David hasn’t held back about how deeply in love he is with Giles Coren’s sister. In his book “Back Story,” the actor poured out his feelings: “She’s not only too wonderful, she’s too perfect for me. She’s funny, intelligent, alluring, anxious, and self-assured in ways that seem tailor-made for me. I consider myself very fortunate.”

Back in 2013, Victoria expressed her infatuation and gratitude for being married to David in an interview with The Telegraph. She said, “I mean, he’s a hugely successful television comedian, he could have had a stunning 24-year-old slender wife with a petite nose and a string bikini, but he chose me! Me!”

Victoria is the sibling of journalist and renowned food writer. She has hosted various shows such as “500 Questions” and co-presented “Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby” with Monica Galetti and Giles Coren.

Their father, Alan Coren, was the former editor of Punch Magazine for a decade. He contributed columns to several reputable broadsheet newspapers. Alan was a familiar face on the BBC radio quiz show, The News Quiz, and also served as a team captain on the BBC television programme Call My Bluff. This background sheds light on Victoria’s passion for quizzing.
