Upset Abbey Clancy instructed Peter Crouch to ‘remove my contact’ following a nightclub incident
Abbey Clancy was seething with anger at her husband, Peter Crouch, when she discovered him engaged in conversation with another woman at a party, just after receiving the woman's phone number. Consequently, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Abbey Clancy requested Peter Crouch to return her phone number on the night they first met, catching him conversing with other girls shortly after receiving her number.
The ex-footballer likely felt elated after scoring his debut goal for Liverpool and successfully engaging the stunning model at a nightclub. However, it appears he nearly jeopardised his chances with her.
Peter and Abbey, now happily married with four children, recounted the less-than-romantic incident on the latest episode of The Therapay Crouch. They shared their story while speaking with The Inbetweeners star James Buckley and his wife Clair, hosts of the podcast In Sickness and in Health.
Abbey disclosed that Peter frequented the venue where she worked, yet their paths never crossed until a particular night, coincidentally the birthday celebration of Tommy, the partner of her best friend Kaz.
Reflecting on the occasion, Abbey recounted, “I was in the midst of work when I headed downstairs to the club, and there was Pete. I distinctly recall feeling my heart racing. While on my way to the restroom, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Well done’.”
Addressing Pete, she inquired, “That was when you scored your inaugural goal for Liverpool, wasn’t it?” Peter jestingly replied, “Indeed, it did take me a bit of time.”
She continued, “Then you asked for my number, but when I returned from the restroom, you were chatting with another girl.” Pete interjected, “I wasn’t chatting with another girl, we were at a nightclub.”
James teased, “Smooth operator. Well done,” prompting Abbey to agree, “Quite the smooth operator.” Pete jokingly added, “I was quite the charmer back then,” before bursting into laughter.
Abbey persisted, “I requested my number back immediately. You’ve just asked me for it.” However, Peter maintained, “I was merely conversing with her. I wasn’t actively mingling.”
Playfully teasing him, the model interjected, “Keeping his possibilities open…” Yet, Pete charmingly responded, “Can you picture Abbey approaching me while I say, ‘I intend to keep my options open’?”
