Severe weather conditions, characterized by heavy rain and strong winds, have caused significant transportation disruptions in various parts of the UK.

Numerous major roads have been shut down, rail services impeded, and flights grounded as a result of these adverse weather conditions.

In Scotland, sections of several key A roads were temporarily closed on Friday morning, with some reopening later in the day.

Among the affected routes are the A9 Jubilee Bridge near Dunkeld in Perthshire, the A85 at Huntingtower near Perth, and the A90 spanning from Forfar in Angus to Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, according to Traffic Scotland.

Motorists are being urged to exercise caution when traversing various bridges, including the A898 Erskine Bridge in West Dunbartonshire, the M90 Queensferry Crossing connecting Edinburgh and Fife, and the A87 Skye Bridge.

Severe flooding led to the shutdown of sections of various major roads, including the A46 in Leicestershire, the A52 in Derbyshire, and the A47 in Norfolk.

Anticipated closures in both directions at Balderton, Nottinghamshire, were also projected for the A1.

The adverse weather conditions resulted in the complete halt of all railway lines passing through Swindon, as well as multiple routes across the North of England, the Midlands, and North Wales.
