Tragic Passing of ‘This Morning’ Star Matty Lock: Cause of Death Unveiled

In a sombre turn of events, ‘This Morning’ personality Matty Lock passed away in September, with the circumstances surrounding his demise now brought to light.

Reports indicate that Matty took his own life by hanging in his summer residence, following the consumption of alcohol and ketamine, as disclosed by the Express.

During an inquiry into his passing in Sefton, it was disclosed that in the year leading up to his untimely demise, there were concerns raised about his alcohol consumption and use of ketamine, despite his reluctance to seek assistance.

Toxicology results following his passing revealed the presence of both substances in his system, prompting authorities to rule out any external involvement. The Express notes that Sefton Senior Coroner Julie Goulding determined the cause of death to be suicide.

Holly Willoughby and Dermot O’Leary paid their respects to him on ITV’s This Morning following his passing last month.

Dermot sombrely conveyed, “We bring you some profoundly saddening news this morning. We lost a cherished member of our This Morning family, Matty Lock, over the weekend.”

Holly went on to reminisce about the delight he brought to all those who worked on This Morning, saying, “He was a deeply cherished part of the This Morning clan and his boundless enthusiasm for technology and gadgets, so uniquely his, never failed to brighten our studio.”

Matty, an active member of the Labour party in Merseyside, had recently been elected as a councillor in the town of Maghull. The final image of him, before his untimely passing, captured him lending a hand to his local community.

In the photograph, Matty was seen donning a red high-visibility vest, diligently tidying up litter and leaves from the ground.

These last images of Matty were shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, last month. Matty accompanied the photo with a caption: “Impressive work by Cllr Ken Hughes in clearing the subway today, we’ve cleaned the walls and trimmed the hedges.”
