Nick Pickard has divulged jungle secrets, including some surprising and amusing scenes that haven’t been shown on screen yet.

The 48-year-old Hollyoaks star became the fourth person to exit the camp through the public vote. While praising his campmates, he alleged that boxer Tony Bellew used his microphone as a means to inform producers about an intruder.

Nick recounted, “I was taken aback thinking, ‘What’s he up to?’ because we all have our radios on, and he’s there saying, ‘There’s a massive spider in here.’ It looked like a tarantula on TV.”

“He called for the guys in security, though they’re never seen on telly, and they came in, but they couldn’t catch it because the spiders were swift. So, he just swiped it into the bushes and casually mentioned, ‘It’s fine, just a huntsman, isn’t it?'”

“Tony remained awake throughout that entire night! He declared, ‘I refuse to sleep there, it’s enormous.’ Quite amusing, really.” Nick also disclosed that Bellew accidentally stepped on the campmates’ food, stating: “He inadvertently trampled their provisions with his size 12 shoes.

“Yet despite that, all 12 individuals still lined up for second servings! It’s quite a descent, isn’t it?” He mentioned that the bosses at Hollyoaks might consider incorporating his character’s recent weight loss journey into the storyline, having shed nearly eight kilograms during his time in the jungle.

The 48-year-old is recognized by millions as Tony Hutchinson in Hollyoaks. However, the character will appear somewhat leaner in the upcoming year.

Nick mentioned, “I’ve shed one stone and three pounds. They assess your weight at specific intervals during the trials due to restrictions, but I attempted to glance at the scales. However, the medic refused to reveal it. This adds an extra layer of intrigue when you finally emerge.”

“I’m determined to avoid those midnight visits to the fridge; that’s where the weight piles on. I’ll strive to maintain this weight loss as much as possible.”

They might attempt to incorporate it into Hollyoaks, I’m unsure. It’s one of those things we say ‘I’ll keep it under wraps,’ but here I am, and it’s Christmas. So it’ll probably all come back!”

While in the camp and having shed some weight, Nick gained popularity as a heartthrob on social media, attracting numerous admirers. When informed of this, he remarked, “My girlfriend mentioned that it’s a bit late in life to be experiencing that. I’m nearly 50. Nonetheless, it’s pleasant to hear.

He admitted to feeling a touch light-headed after sipping the champagne and engaging with Ant and Dec during his departure interview. Nick confessed, “I must confess, the champagne hit me quite swiftly. I felt a bit unsteady, perhaps had it a tad too hastily. I’m a bit of a lightweight, especially with alcohol.”

When reflecting on his time there, he concluded, “My girlfriend expressed how proud she is of me. Her happiness means a lot because one worries about the image projected, as that’s crucial when you’re outside the scenario.”

“I’ve been in the industry long enough to anticipate how things unfold. Nevertheless, the response has been largely positive thus far. I’m eagerly looking forward to catching up on some episodes of the show.”
