Tina O’Brien, from ITV’s Coronation Street, hints at a fresh romantic interest for Sarah, and it’s neither Damon nor Adam

 

In the upcoming New Year, Coronation Street is set for a triple shock as three familiar faces return, stirring up bombshells and peril on the cobbled streets.

Sarah Platt will find herself in a whirlwind as her former flame, Damon Hay, makes a dramatic comeback to Weatherfield. But that’s not the only surprise in store for Sarah, as her daughter Bethany Platt also reappears on the scene. And with Damon’s return, it won’t be long before his criminal brother, Harvey Gaskell, joins the fray.

Viewers will remember the tumultuous affair between Sarah and Damon, which reached a breaking point earlier this year. Following Sarah’s admission to her husband, Adam Barlow, about the paternity lie concerning her baby, tragically lost in heart-wrenching scenes, their marriage crumbled. Damon hasn’t been seen on-screen since June, leaving a trail of unresolved tension behind.

In forthcoming scenes, post his panic attack, Adam reassures his estranged wife Sarah that he’s feeling significantly improved. Sarah proposes a meet-up for a drink, sparking hope in Adam for a fresh beginning between them. While at the pub, Sarah looks up information on panic attacks and pledges to support Adam in confronting his anxiety.

As Adam and Sarah part ways outside, Damon sneakily observes them from across the street. Shortly after, while Adam heads to his office, a man tails him in a van, leading to Adam’s distressing discovery of being tied up in the van. Will he manage to free himself?

Later in the week, Nick and Leanne encounter Damon waiting for them, seeking repayment of the money he entrusted to Harvey for investment in the Bistro. Craig arrives, questioning Damon about Adam’s abduction. Capitalizing on another business prospect, Damon offers Ed a job refurbishing a bar. Bethany identifies him as a home wrecker, but Damon’s attention shifts as he receives a phone call and hastily leaves.

In a prison visitation room, Damon faces his brother Harvey. What does Harvey seek from his brother?

Hinting at the forthcoming scenes, Tina O’Brien, the actress, was questioned about Sarah’s potential relationships with either Adam or Damon. Speaking to the Mirror and other press, she said, “I can’t answer that without upsetting one of them… bring in a new man for Sarah!

“If everything hadn’t happened with Adam, I might have leaned towards him. But I’m unsure if they could overcome the pain and betrayal. Damon, in the long run, could potentially be detrimental and risky for her. Perhaps she’s simply better off being independent!”
