A tantalising trailer for the much-anticipated spin-off has offered enthusiasts a sneak peek at this year’s contestants, following the successful revival of Big Brother the previous year.

Speculation has been rife about the identities of those set to enter the Big Brother House since the announcement of Celebrity Big Brother, with a beloved figure from This Morning strongly believed to be among the line-up.

It’s reported that presenter Fern Britton has agreed to join the show, poised to share insights into her falling out with erstwhile co-presenter Schofield, who departed the programme last year.

Britton, aged 66, and Schofield, 61, shared the spotlight as co-hosts on the beloved morning programme for a span of six years, until Britton’s departure in 2009, when Holly Willoughby stepped into her shoes.

Speculation around a potential rift between Britton and Schofield gained traction after Britton omitted any reference to her former co-host in her expressions of gratitude towards the This Morning team upon leaving the show.

Schofield has since revealed in his autobiography that an intense fallout with Britton over the show led to their relationship souring.

A source speaking to The Mirror mentioned that Britton aims to reveal a different facet of herself to the public, one that is unscripted and unapologetic.

She is ready to share numerous stories and intends to be candid about her relationships with individuals including Phil, the insider added.

Their communication has ceased, leaving no bridges left to burn, in her view.

A spokesperson for CBB has previously commented, stating that at this point, any names mentioned are purely speculative.

Britton recently opened up about the state of her friendship with Schofield following his departure from ITV. His resignation came after he confessed to having an affair with a significantly younger colleague, which he described as “unwise but not illegal.”

“When we were both on the show, we were good mates, but we’ve not really kept in touch,” she shared with Good Housekeeping.

Reflecting on her tenure at This Morning, she expressed fond memories. “My time on This Morning was wonderful, and I cherished the decade I spent there,” she said.

Britton believes in looking forward rather than dwelling on the past. “You should never look back. I don’t think it’s possible to turn back time; it simply wouldn’t work,” she remarked.

In other news, Celebrity Big Brother is set to make its comeback on ITV and ITVX starting March 4.
