The 42-year-old presenter is set to make a comeback to our screens tonight, co-hosting Dancing On Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern.

Sharing a snapshot of the two hosts standing together, the magazine show This Morning expressed their delight: ‘So great to see @hollywilloughby back on our screens where she belongs. Good luck for tonight’s launch of @dancingonice – we’ll be watching!’

In October, Holly revealed she would be stepping down from her role as a presenter on This Morning following the disclosure of an alleged kidnap plot against her.

In a surprising departure announcement on social media, Holly, who had been in the role for 14 years, explained that the decision was made for the well-being of herself and her family.

Her statement conveyed, ‘I have informed ITV today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.’

To all those who’ve contributed to the show over the years, my heartfelt thanks. Saying goodbye is tough, but your incredible efforts fill me with pride for what we’ve accomplished together. A special acknowledgment to ITV for their unwavering support. My gratitude extends to every guest who graced our sofa.

Above all, immense thanks to our wonderful viewers. Your loyalty and support have been unparalleled, making each day a joyous experience.

Recalling Richard and Judy’s words, “We only look after this show; it will always belong to the viewers.” It’s been an honour to be a part of its narrative, and I believe there are many chapters yet to unfold. Unfortunately, I find myself needing to make this decision for the sake of my family.

In conclusion, I’ll miss each and every one of you dearly.

Her departure follows closely after her long-time co-host of over a decade, Philip Schofield—her companion on Dancing On Ice—left ITV, revealing the truth about an affair with a younger colleague.

Holly has kept a low profile, avoiding the public eye and steering clear of social media ever since she revealed her departure from This Morning. She only made a post a few days prior to the Dancing On Ice launch on January 14th.

‘And so it begins…’ she shared with her 8.5 million followers, accompanied by an image of the script for the inaugural episode.

Looking ahead, Lynn Carrat, a PR, brand, and culture expert, informed Metro.co.uk that Holly faces a challenging task of ‘reconnecting’ with her audience after a tumultuous year.

‘This season of Dancing on Ice is pivotal for Holly because she needs to rebuild connections with the viewers.

‘Whether rightly or wrongly, she experienced a loss of credibility with the audience following the Schofield scandal. The speech she delivered upon her return to This Morning didn’t resonate well with the viewers,’ Carrat remarked.

In an emotional monologue to the camera during the first show since Schofield’s revelations, with whom she co-hosted This Morning for over a decade, Holly began, ‘Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you ok? I hope so.’

Her words triggered a range of reactions, from sympathy to scorn and ridicule, with some drawing comparisons to Jennifer Aniston’s fictional scene in The Morning Show.

Dancing On Ice is set to air tonight on ITV at 6.30 pm.
