Taylor Swift’s long-serving publicist has stepped in to dispel rumours circulating about the superstar. Tree Paine, the representative for Swift, strongly rebuked DeuxMoi, an anonymous Instagram account known for sharing unverified celebrity gossip. This action followed a post on the platform alleging that Swift and her former boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, had participated in a “marriage” ceremony sometime in 2020 or 2021.

Paine took to X (formerly Twitter) to express vehement opposition, stating, “Enough is enough with these baseless fabrications about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an absurd claim to make.” She further insisted that it was time for accountability to be held for the distress and anguish caused by such misleading posts.

Earlier on that day, DeuxMoi had also shared a post speculating that Swift’s song, “You’re Losing Me,” was inspired by a past miscarriage, allegedly causing a rift between the former couple. However, following Paine’s tweet, the post was swiftly removed from DeuxMoi’s Instagram Stories.

Responding to the publicist’s remarks, DeuxMoi, who possesses two podcasts and published a novel titled “Anon Pls.” last year, made a statement in a now-deleted post. “Well, I make zero pounds from deceit… can publicists claim the same,” they wrote. “Additionally, attempting to relate something from years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after recent events appears to be a misguided choice of words. Nevertheless, I apologise to Taylor.”

Sources previously disclosed in April that Swift, 33, and Alwyn, 32, had ended their relationship after six years together.

During their highly discreet relationship, the couple skillfully sidestepped persistent engagement speculations. Alwyn humorously remarked to WSJ. Magazine, “If I received a pound for every instance I’ve been told I’m engaged, I’d be swimming in coins.”

Swift, currently romantically involved with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, directly addressed the swirling engagement rumours in her track “Lavender Haze,” featured on her album ‘Midnights.’ In the song, she croons, “All they persistently ask is whether I’ll be your bride/ the only image they conceive is either a fleeting encounter or a life partner.”

Before the album’s launch in October 2022, the Grammy-winning artist informed her followers that the song drew inspiration from the intrusive “bizarre rumours” and incessant tabloid attention directed at her and Alwyn during their relationship.

During a teaser on Instagram, she shared, “This song delves into the act of dismissing those rumours to safeguard what truly matters.”

Swift surprised attendees by appearing unexpectedly at Beyoncé’s Renaissance film premiere in London. Adorned in a silver-themed ensemble, she exhibited her support for the esteemed music industry figure.
