Police Launch Murder Investigation After Woman, 36, Found Dead in Hammersmith

Police Respond to Incident on Coulter Road After Reports of Break-In Attempt

A murder investigation has been launched after the tragic death of a 36-year-old woman in Hammersmith.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to a residential property on Coulter Road at 10:13pm on Sunday, following reports of a man attempting to force entry into a flat.

Upon arrival, officers gained entry to the property and discovered a 36-year-old woman with a fatal head injury. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and remains in police custody.

Formal identification is yet to take place, and the next of kin have not yet been informed. A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

Detective Chief Inspector Ollie Stride, leading the investigation, said:

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of this young woman and are working to ensure her family is informed and supported by specialist officers as soon as possible.

“We understand this incident will have caused distress to the community, and we are doing everything we can to establish what happened.

“Although an arrest has been made, we still need to build a full picture of the events leading up to this tragedy. If you saw or heard anything unusual on Sunday, 9 February, in Coulter Road, please come forward. Your information could be vital to our investigation.”
