Following Lorraine Kelly’s handover, Susanna informed viewers that she’ll be away for a while, stating, “I am back in two weeks time.” Lorraine kindly replied, “We will miss you! Have a great time Susanna.”

The popular Good Morning Britain host, who’s been co-presenting with Richard Madeley this week, is likely taking time off for the October half-term. Off-screen, Susanna is a mother of three.

Recently, Susanna subtly criticised the BBC for not categorising the Hamas attackers as terrorists. However, the conflict took centre stage on the show thanks to her co-host, Richard, aged 67.

During Tuesday’s broadcast, Richard left Lib Dem MP Layla Moran momentarily speechless when he asked if she had any prior knowledge of the terror attack in Israel, given her family connections in Gaza. He inquired, “With your family connections in Gaza, did you have any indication of what was going to happen ten days ago, two weeks ago? Was there any word on the street?”

Lorraine expressed her feelings of ‘missing’ the ITV host while she takes some time off

The surprised MP responded, “Not this, not this. Everyone, everyone has been surprised first of all by the timing and sophistication and the way that it’s happened. What I will say is that I’ve been warning, and others have in Parliament as well for a number of years now, that if we don’t find a way… People say ‘go back to the negotiating table’. The fact of the matter is there has not been a table, let alone to go back to a negotiating table for at least ten years. This is a cycle of violence. My worry now is that this is radicalising another generation on all sides. We have to stop this hatred. We have to bring people together and find a way through.”

On October 7, Hamas gunmen, armed with guns, grenades, and knives, crossed the border on paragliders and motorbikes, resulting in hundreds of casualties and dozens taken hostage, including entire families tragically killed in their beds.
