Rosario Dawson, aged 44, is set to become a grandmother next year, which is incredibly exciting news

Rosario Dawson, the 44-year-old Ahsoka actress, is anticipating an expansion of her family! Reports suggest that she is preparing to step into the role of a grandmother. According to Page Six, her 21-year-old daughter, Isabella Dawson, is expecting her first child.
Speaking to the outlet, the Seven Pounds star expressed her excitement, mentioning that the baby is due next year and shared her intention of being addressed as “Glamma.”
When approached for comment, Dawson’s representative was contacted by PEOPLE but did not respond immediately.
During an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE this summer, Rosario talked about Isabella, whom she adopted in 2014 at the age of 11.
I observed a situation where the people you choose to holiday with either have a keen interest in numerous activities or prefer to relax without much ado. In August, The Haunted Mansion actress shared that her daughter falls into the latter category – opting for leisurely moments on the beach,” she disclosed.
During this conversation, the star was discussing her involvement with SHISEIDO Blue Project’s Third Annual Beach Clean-Up, collaborating with WSL One Ocean and WILDCOAST.
Continuing to praise her daughter, she remarked, “That’s her style! I’ve crafted some impressive sand mermaid tails for her. I must say, ‘Just relax there, kiddo. Stick your head out.’ And with her stunning curly hair, she’s my little mermaid.”
Before becoming Isabella’s mother, Rosario had a previous connection with the young girl’s birth mother. The Men in Black II actress told Health in their March 2021 issue that she chose adoption upon discovering Isabella was in foster care.
“It was an absolute certainty; it felt destined,” she expressed.
“In our cover story for the magazine, I’m thankful for her growth, our shared journey, and our bond,” she elaborated. “Welcoming a young person into your home and consciously navigating challenges and triggers is a unique experience compared to childbirth and watching your baby grow – witnessing our closeness deepen is truly special. We’ve become a family, and it’s a beautiful journey.
In December 2018, Rosario mentioned that despite no biological ties between herself and Isabella, many have noticed a striking resemblance between the 21-year-old and Rosario’s mother, Isabel Celeste.
Rosario shared, “When we’re out and about, no one questions our family connection. She’s Puerto Rican, and the island being small, there might be some link, but it’s quite remarkable.”
While not hinting at any potential baby names for her grandchild, the Josie and the Pussycats star hinted at the likelihood of continuing a cherished family tradition if it’s a girl.
Speaking on Parents magazine’s We Are Family podcast in November 2021, Rosario explained the heartfelt significance behind Isabella’s name: “She’s named after my grandmother. So, my grandmother was Isabel. My mum is Isabel Celeste, and I’m Rosario Isabel.”
