Piers Morgan criticised Katie Hopkins as ‘despicable’ for her offensive comments about Kate Garraway, just days after the tragic passing of Kate’s husband, Derek Draper.

The 58-year-old broadcaster shared a close friendship with Derek. Kate’s medical condition is reported to be non-cancerous, and Prince William has rearranged his schedule to provide support to his wife and their children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The Princess is anticipated to recuperate at her Windsor residence with her family, and it seems unlikely that the Waleses will undertake any international travel in the upcoming months.

Earlier reports had indicated that William and Kate were planning an official visit to Italy this spring.

The London Clinic, renowned for its medical services, has a history of providing care to members of the royal family. Notably, the late Duke of Edinburgh underwent “abdominal investigations” at the hospital in 2013.

In 1980, the late Princess Margaret underwent an operation at the clinic to remove a benign skin lesion, highlighting the establishment’s long-standing association with royal health matters.

Upon the release of the official statement by the palace, William and Kate’s Instagram page received an outpouring of supportive comments. Numerous well-wishers expressed their encouragement, with Giovanni Fletcher, who has met the Princess on several occasions, sharing a message of love: “Sending love! Xx.” Additionally, presenter Fearne Cotton conveyed her support with two heart emojis.

Kate was last seen publicly on Christmas Day

Kate typically enjoys good health, but she experienced a previous hospital admission during pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

“This news comes as a surprise, especially when many of us were anticipating the Princess’s return to a busy schedule of engagements. Neither she nor William will be undertaking public duties in the coming weeks, and it’s unlikely that Kate will resume work before Easter. William is committed to being by her side, along with their children, until she’s comfortably settled back at home, resulting in the postponement of numerous diary events. Of course, everyone wishes her a swift recovery.”

The unexpected development means that Kate, who is usually in good health, had previously been hospitalised during pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

According to HELLO!’s Royal Editor, Emily Nash, “This news has taken us by surprise, especially when many were anticipating the Princess’s return to a busy schedule of engagements. Neither she nor William will be on public duty in the next few weeks, and it’s doubtful that Kate will resume work before Easter. William is determined to stand by her side, along with their children, until she’s comfortably settled back at home. Consequently, several diary events are being postponed. Naturally, everyone wishes her a full and speedy recovery.”
