Prince William has finally addressed the rampant conspiracy theories concerning his wife, the Princess of Wales.

Following abdominal surgery, Kate has taken a leave from her duties. At the time of her surgery, it was announced by Kensington Palace that she would be recuperating until approximately Easter, and updates on her recovery would not be forthcoming. Earlier this week, she was spotted for the first time since the operation, driving in the vicinity of her Windsor residence alongside her mother, Carole Middleton.

However, in the face of widespread speculation, a spokesperson for the Prince of Wales shared with People magazine that the Prince’s priority remains his responsibilities, rather than the chatter on social media platforms. This statement emerges as Kensington Palace expressed frustration over the “madness on social media” following Catherine’s surgery.

Royal aides have shown hesitance in providing continuous updates regarding her health status or recuperation following abdominal surgery on the 16th of January. Despite an announcement from Kensington Palace that the future queen would temporarily step down from all official engagements for a two-week hospitalisation and subsequent recovery at home until after Easter, chaos ensued yesterday. The chaos was sparked by the Army’s announcement that she was scheduled to attend a Trooping the Colour rehearsal in June. This would have marked the princess’s first officially confirmed public appearance since her operation, with tickets promptly going on sale online.

However, mere hours after this revelation, the Ministry of Defence found itself compelled to expunge any reference to the princess’s participation from its website. This move came after it emerged that the announcement for the June 8 rehearsal had not received approval from the palace. This oversight left royal officials out of the loop, prompting aides to clarify that they are the sole authority on confirming the Prince and Princess of Wales’s diary commitments.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace remarked, “The timeline concerning the Princess’s hospitalisation and her expected return to royal responsibilities was explicitly stated from the beginning. There has been no alteration to these plans.” The palace also echoed a statement from the previous week, affirming, “The princess is continuing to make good progress.”

In the meantime, Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, currently featuring on the new series of Celebrity Big Brother on ITV1, addressed the rampant speculation and conspiracy theories about the royal’s absence from the public domain. He advocated for giving her “space” to recuperate. When questioned about the speculation surrounding his niece’s health, Gary commented, “At this time, she should be left alone because there’s a valid reason the family hasn’t discussed it publicly, and they’re allowing her some room to recover.”

“I find it utterly unacceptable, and were it concerning someone else, the general consensus would be to afford them some privacy. Yet, because it’s Kate, who performs her royal duties exceptionally, there’s always a spotlight on her. Being a prominent royal figure, it’s understandable, but I implore people to respect her privacy.”

Further stirring interest, TMZ, an American gossip website, recently published photographs of Catherine being chauffeured in a 4X4 Audi in the vicinity of Windsor Castle. It’s believed that her mother, Carole Middleton, was behind the wheel, likely escorting the royal’s children to school. The last public sighting of Kate was during the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day church visit at Sandringham.
