Police Employ Taser on XL Bully Breed Canine, Contain it in Wheelie Bin After Assault

In an incident in Coventry, a canine described as an ‘XL Bully type’ was subjected to a police taser and subsequently contained in a wheelie bin after a forceful assault on a man and woman. Authorities were alerted at approximately 4pm last Thursday, in response to the aggressive behaviour exhibited by the dog towards two individuals on Purcell Road in Coventry. West Midlands Police reported that the canine was subjected to a taser for the purpose of safeguarding public well-being and was subsequently confined in a wheelie-bin. The XL Bully targeted a man and a woman within a residential unit before making its way into a shared area of the building, as outlined by the West Midlands Police.

The male and female individuals were transported to the medical facility for treatment of injuries that are assessed as non-life-threatening.

Law enforcement authorities have indicated that the dog, believed to belong to the Bully type breed, will now undergo euthanasia.

A spokesperson from Coventry Police reported, “We received a call regarding an incident on Purcell Road in Coventry, just before 4 pm today (Thursday), regarding a male and female who sustained injuries after a dog attack.”

“The male and female were subsequently taken to the hospital with injuries considered to be serious yet not life-threatening. The occurrence transpired within a flat, but the dog managed to escape into a common area within the premises.”

“In order to ensure a secure resolution, the officers employed a taser on the dog, suspected to be an XL Bully, and subsequently contained it securely in a nearby refuse bin to guarantee the safety of the public, allowing the victims to receive the necessary care. It is pertinent to note that the injured parties were acquainted with the owner.”

“Our investigations are still in progress, and no apprehensions have been made at this juncture.”
