Tommy Fury’s victory over KSI (Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji) on Saturday night, October 14th, has been revised from a majority decision to a unanimous one.

The former Love Island contestant faced off against the YouTube personality in Manchester at the AO Arena, clinching a unanimous decision.

However, upon the release of the scorecards, it became evident that one judge had miscalculated their scores, erroneously recording a draw between the two.

The initial scoring error, where the judge called the match a 57-57 draw, has now been corrected to 57-56 in favour of Fury, aligning with the verdict of the other two judges.

Regardless of whether the final decision was a split or majority one, KSI expressed a sense of injustice at not being declared the victor, terming it a ‘robbery’.

“How many jabs did he actually land? You hardly landed any shots. You weren’t connecting! Look at your face; look at your eyes. Look at you! I’m the YouTuber; you’re the boxer; you should win. I get it. It’s all good,” KSI directly addressed Fury after the bout.

“I won rounds 1, 2, 3, and a point off. How do I lose a six-rounder? Unbelievable. He’s the one who’s supposed to be the professional boxer and he secures a majority decision. It’s scandalous.”

KSI secured victory in the first and second rounds; in the second, a point was deducted from Fury for hitting his 30-year-old opponent on the back of the head.

However, the judges ultimately ruled Fury the winner in the remaining four rounds.

“It certainly wasn’t my finest performance. We anticipated it would be a lacklustre affair because one fighter wasn’t willing to engage,” Fury confessed to IFL TV afterwards.

“Where I come from, in the gyms and such, you stand your ground and have a proper fight. This opponent was constantly moving around the ring, avoiding confrontation. It turned into a scrappy affair.

“It was a dreadful bout. I haven’t even reviewed it, and I’m not sure if I’ll want to, because my performance was subpar. Nonetheless, I emerged victorious.”

In the meantime, Fury’s fiancée, Molly-Mae Hague, with whom he has a child, has conveyed nothing but pride for her partner after his triumph.

Molly has openly discussed the stress and anxiety she endures while watching her future husband in the boxing ring. Nevertheless, she consistently stands by him in his boxing pursuits.

“Afterwards,” the former PLT Creative director penned, “No one is more proud of you than I am.”
