Mother and Son Identified in Derbyshire Hit-and-Run, Say Police

Police have identified the mother and son who tragically lost their lives in a hit-and-run incident in Derbyshire.

Angela Boyack and her son Stephen Boyack, both residents of South Shields in Tyneside, tragically lost their lives following a collision between their Hyundai and a BMW near Kelstedge, Derbyshire, at approximately 10:20 am on Saturday, the 9th of December.

Ms Boyack, aged 59, passed away at the accident site, whereas Mr Boyack, aged 22, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital following an airlift from the A632 Chesterfield Road at Span Carr.

A 27-year-old man has recently stood before the court, facing multiple charges in connection with a vehicular incident.

Joshua Hill is accused of the offences of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving without a valid license and insurance, as well as failing to stop after the accident and neglecting to report the incident.

Residing on Wheata Road in Sheffield, Hill made his appearance at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court in Derby on Tuesday and has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9th January at the crown court in the city.
