Meryl Streep Parts Ways with Husband After 45 Years of Marriage
Meryl Streep and her husband, Don Gummer, have decided to go their separate ways after an impressive 45 years of marriage.
The actress from “Only Murders in the Building,” aged 74, and the sculptor, aged 76, who exchanged vows in 1978 and were last spotted together at the 2018 Oscars, discreetly parted ways over six years ago.
A statement from the star of “Mamma Mia!” confirmed to Page Six, “Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”
The former pair share four children: the 43-year-old singer-songwriter Henry Wolfe, as well as the actresses Mamie Gummer, aged 40, Grace Gummer, aged 37, and Louisa Jacobson, aged 30. Additionally, they have five grandchildren together.

The nuptials transpired half a year after the passing of her boyfriend and fellow actor, John Cazale, who succumbed to lung cancer in March 1978.
Meryl confided in People a year after his passing, saying, “The loss still weighs heavily on me. It has compelled me to face my own mortality, and once you do that, your perspective on things shifts.”
The Academy Award-winning actress’ announcement of her separation coincided with her daughter Grace’s marriage to Mark Ronson. The producer and DJ shared the news of their union in a heartfelt Instagram post on his 46th birthday in 2021.
Addressing his followers, he expressed, “To my truest love… unexpectedly, you turned 45 into unequivocally the most wonderful year of my life. And I’m certain it took me 45 years to become the man deserving of your love. I aspire to spend every one of these birthdays at your side until my final day. And beyond. Forever and always yours (and yes, we tied the knot).”
As for Meryl, she was most recently spotted alongside Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short in the third season of “Only Murders in the Building”.
