M4 Gridlock: Motorway Shut Down Following Severe Collision
Motorists should brace for substantial delays on the motorway following a severe collision involving five vehicles.
The eastbound carriageway of the M4 remains fully closed after a lorry overturned between Junction 17 (Chippenham) and Junction 18 (Bath) on the Wiltshire border.
Emergency services, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were on the scene by 09:10 BST.
One lane westbound, from Junction 17 for Chippenham to Junction 18 for Bath, has now reopened.
Wiltshire Police have been contacted for comment.
In other areas of the region, traffic and public transport services have experienced disruptions due to flooding caused by Storm Babet.
