Linda Robson has candidly revealed the reasons behind the conclusion of her 34-year marriage to Mark Dunford, shedding light on why the pair decided to end their long-standing relationship.

The 65-year-old Loose Women panellist disclosed her split from her husband last November, yet the details behind their separation remained undisclosed until now.

In an exclusive conversation with OK!, Linda explained that their parting was not marked by drama but was a gradual realisation that they had drifted apart over the years.

“People do, sometimes, don’t they?” she reflected. “We never really shared many common interests. I’m quite outgoing and sociable, whereas Mark never really took to that aspect of our life together.”

Linda and Mark are the proud parents of two adult children, Louis, aged 32, and Bobbie, aged 28. Linda also has a daughter, Lauren, who is 40, and two grandchildren, from her previous relationship with the late Tony Tyler.

The television personality has recently expressed that it was their children who played a pivotal role in keeping her and Mark together over the years. She highlighted Mark’s exceptional qualities as a father, describing him as an “amazing dad.”

Linda reflected on the situation, acknowledging the sadness it brought her. “Of course, I’ve felt sad about it,” she admitted. However, she quickly pointed out the joy their children have brought into their lives. “We were blessed with two wonderful children,” she said. Now, as adults, they have embarked on their own journeys, leading independent lives.

It’s just me and Dolly the dog now. I’m in a really positive place at the moment. Work is going well, and I feel like there’s a lot I want to share. Writing my memoir proved to be quite therapeutic, particularly when it came to discussing the challenges I’ve faced with my mental health.

She also shared her and Mark’s intention to put their Islington home on the market, adding, “I’m downsizing to a smaller property, closer to Lauren – it’s a two-bedroom house, so her daughters can come and stay with me. I’ll still be in Islington, though. That is unless my children decide to move, in which case I’ll be right behind them!”

Regarding her current relationship with Mark, Linda remarked, “We manage to keep things civil between us – for the most part, anyway!”

Linda has mentioned that, for the most part, she and Mark maintain a “civil” relationship. However, she couldn’t resist making a jibe at her ex-husband during an appearance on Loose Women earlier this year. She humorously remarked that Mark “wouldn’t notice if I was on fire.”

The comment came about during a discussion on the importance of getting moles checked. Linda shared that she had attended a check-up with her eldest daughter, Lauren. It was in this context that she threw a playful jab at Mark, suggesting he’s so unobservant that he “wouldn’t notice” if she had any new moles.

Expanding on her point, Linda expressed a lack of confidence in her husband’s attentiveness to her, stating, “I think if anything changed on my body, my husband wouldn’t notice. He wouldn’t notice if I was on fire.”
