During her interview with Seth Doane, the songstress candidly recounted the ordeal, highlighting the imperative to push forward post-diagnosis and resume everyday life.

Prompted by the interviewer about the underlying fear, Kylie articulated the enduring weight of such trauma, persisting even after being declared free of the illness.

Reflecting on her cancer diagnosis, she conveyed a mix of difficulty and wonder, stating, “The experience of a cancer diagnosis will remain with me. It was challenging yet astonishing.”

Kylie admitted struggling to prioritise herself earlier in life but acknowledged a shift in perspective after her cancer diagnosis, realising the absence of selfishness in self-care.

In a 2014 interview, she stressed the importance of prioritising oneself while battling a severe illness, affirming, “You need to place yourself first.”

Acknowledging the adjustment in her approach, Kylie expressed, “It’s not my natural inclination to be selfish, but it was necessary. Allowing others to care for you is crucial. That’s what I learned.”

Having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and receiving the all-clear in 2006, Kylie underwent surgery and months of chemotherapy.
