Josie Gibson of ITV’s ‘I’m A Celebrity’ showcases an astounding change, dropping three dress sizes
As Josie Gibson enjoys her meals of rice and beans in the jungle of 'I'm a Celeb,' let's delve deeper into the weight loss journey of the This Morning presenter.
As Josie Gibson, a participant on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here,’ continues to consume rice, beans, and a variety of more exotic foods, fans are likely to be impressed by how well she’s coping with the demanding conditions in the jungle.
Although the challenges and meals are undeniably tough, viewers might be surprised to learn that this isn’t Josie’s first demanding journey. In 2019, she successfully slimmed down from a size 18 to a size 12 in just nine weeks.
The 38-year-old star, renowned for winning Big Brother in 2010, unveiled her remarkable transformation on Instagram, proudly displaying the results of her hard work.
Whilst speaking at the time, Josie penned, “Goodbye back fat!!! Apologies for the visual! I’m almost there, reclaiming my waist feels incredible. My aim is to reach a size 12!”
“I haven’t placed excessive pressure on myself and my exercise routine hasn’t been as consistent as before, but the progress is noticeable.”
In her candid revelation about her lifestyle changes, the This Morning presenter disclosed that she achieved a healthy weight loss with the support of @dotheunthinkableuk (now @goalplansmf). They provided pre-prepared meals, snacks, and training plans to enhance her fitness.
Josie added, “Huge thanks to the @dotheunthinkableuk team!! Their meal delivery service costs £1.90 per meal along with training plans (which I’ve been a bit slack at following).”
“I’ve progressed from a Size 18 to a 12/14 in just 9 weeks (taking breaks for my birthday and Christmas, of course!) Got to keep at it, oi oi.

At the beginning of her weight loss journey, Josie mentioned her starting weight was approximately 227lbs, and by the end, she had shed 31lbs.
In a subsequent update, she shared: “I began at 227lb and ended at 196lb. I still have a bit more to lose and might resume the plan before my holiday. Huge thanks to @dotheunthinkableuk.
“The idea of gaining more weight was distressing! Crossing over 16 stone didn’t feel healthy. I’m still progressing, and you’ve truly been a lifesaver. It’s been a stressful period, so having my meals prepared eased the pressure.”
Fans lauded the star for her genuine and transparent approach to her weight loss journey after giving birth to her young son Reggie-James. They praised her for opting for a gradual and measured pace in her efforts to reach a weight that made her content.
Reflecting on the inception of her weight loss journey, Josie candidly shared with Closer magazine that she had been consciously making healthy adjustments for over a decade.
She revealed, “I initially began my weight-loss journey in 2013 and managed to shed 6 stone within a year through a combination of nutritious eating and regular exercise.”
Moreover, in the same year, the celebrity launched two fitness DVDs. Subsequently, Josie underwent a tummy tuck procedure in 2016 to address excess skin resulting from her weight loss.
More recently, Josie hinted at the possibility of shedding more weight before venturing into the jungle. She playfully teased viewers by suggesting an ‘unconventional diet’, knowing full well that campmates survive on limited rations, primarily comprising rice and beans.
When her involvement in the annual challenge series was initially disclosed, Josie jovially remarked, “Not the weight loss retreat I had in mind… unconventional diet.”
Expressing her excitement, she announced, “Thrilled that the news is finally out – I’m entering the jungle! Tune in to @itv from this Sunday, 19th. Wish me luck! #ImACeleb.”
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs weeknights at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
