The 63-year-old star of ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ married producer Alicia Allain in 2019. Sadly, she passed away earlier this year at 53. He shared that facing his first Christmas without her will be a challenge. He emphasised that his grief over her loss will persist, never truly fading.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, he expressed, ‘It’s going to be tough. Grief is unpredictable. It can catch you off guard, often when you’re enjoying a moment. It’s as if grief says, ‘No, today you won’t smile, today you won’t laugh.’ But the idea that grief will disappear is unrealistic.’

He continued, ‘Grief is a constant companion we learn to carry. I’m learning to cope, a skill I never wished to acquire. But here I am, making the best of it.’

The country music singer, who shares children Leah (35), Chasen (31), and Karis (27) with ex-wife Elly Castle, while Alicia had daughter Jessica from a previous relationship, intends to spend the festive season with his stepdaughter and her husband Daniel Turner. They aim to honour what they would have done if his late wife were still here, even though it will be incredibly challenging.

He explained, ‘We’ll be together throughout, much like we would have if Alicia were here. We’ll celebrate her life and cherish her memory, though it’s a difficult time. Very difficult.’

He concluded, ‘We’ll celebrate the remarkable life and the tremendous impact she had on all of us.’
