The renowned chef made an appearance on Chris Moyles’ radio show on XFM, where he found himself facing a request from the former sports presenter to join his High Performance podcast.

The podcast gained attention recently when Gordon Ramsay, another chef, featured on it and faced criticism for claiming he was ‘broke’ despite owning a Porsche.

Jake, aged 45, disclosed that he had been persistently attempting to reach the host of the £1 Wonders but hadn’t succeeded, leading him to make the request live on air.

‘I’ve tried contacting Jamie Oliver around 50 times,’ the former BT Sport presenter exclaimed, eliciting laughter from the radio hosts.

Chris, aged 49, suggested recording the request in case the two couldn’t connect in person. Jake eagerly implored, ‘Jamie Oliver, please consider joining the High Performance podcast.’

Upon receiving the request in a live radio question segment, Jamie, aged 48, chuckled and responded, “Definitely not.”

Chris, with a grin, replied, “Alright, brilliant. Apologies, Jake,” followed by laughter at the chef’s firm refusal.

Fans on X (Twitter) have been thoroughly enjoying the exchange, with user Liam sharing the moment in a tweet that has garnered over 3.5 million views.

He penned: ‘Jamie Oliver hilariously poking fun at Jake Humphrey is the uplifting content I never realised I was missing.’

Deliveroo, the food delivery company, joined in on the banter, stating: ‘An uncommon win for Jamie Oliver.’

Jamie’s actions have long stirred controversy, particularly regarding the removal of Turkey Twizzlers from school canteens in an effort to promote better health. Despite this, the British public has not entirely forgiven him.

Christopher tweeted, “He’s starting to be forgiven for the Turkey Twizzlers,” while Tom shared, “One step closer to forgiving Jamie Oliver for doing away with Turkey Twizzlers.”

In response to these tweets, Nooruddean commented, “The mix of desperation followed by the concise reply is the most satisfying thing Jamie Oliver has ever done.”

Another user, Patt, queried, “Can you imagine reaching out to Jamie Oliver repeatedly? If you’ve been ignored four or five times, wouldn’t you take the hint?”

Dave jestingly remarked, “So, it appears Jamie Oliver’s best Christmas roast is Jake Humphrey.”
