Jamie Lynn Spears had to endure a wait of ‘hours’ before departing the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle due to severe weather conditions, as shared by her campmate Nick Pickard.

The 32-year-old, renowned as the younger sibling of pop icon Britney Spears, departed the popular ITV show on medical grounds towards the end of November, concluding her 10-day stint in camp.

ITV officials confirmed her departure, praising her as an outstanding campmate who excelled in challenges and forged strong bonds with fellow celebrities.

Following her eviction as the fourth campmate on Wednesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard divulged some undisclosed occurrences from their time in the jungle, one of which involved the night Jamie Lynn exited the show.

Nick mentioned that her departure didn’t go smoothly as she found herself ‘waiting for hours’ despite confirming her wish to leave. The camp was nearly evacuated due to storms at the time.

He explained, “We endured 12 days of relentless rain, and for a continuous 48 hours, it simply did not cease. It was on that night when Jamie Lynn departed, and we all gathered together, seeking refuge. The Bush Telegraph was our only shelter reinforced with steel, offering protection from the lightning strikes.

“We were confined there for an extensive period, and it was during this time that Jamie Lynn disclosed her intention to depart on medical grounds. It was unquestionably the most challenging night, enduring 48 relentless hours of ceaseless storms.”

We were eager to leave that place, but circumstances led us back outside. Despite the canopy’s presence, the rain persisted, sneaking in from the sides in that tropical setting.

Nick also disclosed Tony Bellew, the ex-boxer’s, deeper apprehension towards the jungle’s insects, beyond what was shown on television. On his second day in camp, Bellew used his microphone to alert the show producers about a bothersome spider, as shared by Nick.

The actor recounted how security personnel entered the camp to address the huntsman spider but failed to capture it, eventually just nudging it into the bushes—hardly reassuring for Tony.

Additionally, Nick revealed his own encounters with the jungle’s creatures, suffering a rash on his body after the final trial, Critical Mixer. He also sported sizable bruises from that ordeal, he mentioned.

Earlier this week, Jamie Lynn graced the finale of Dancing With The Stars, donning a glamorous gold tassel mini dress paired with high heels. However, her presence at the finale stirred scepticism among I’m A Celeb fans regarding her choice to depart the jungle.

Expressing their doubts on X, formerly known as Twitter, one individual remarked, ‘Wait a moment. Jamie-Lynn left the jungle citing medical reasons and now she’s back on Dancing With The Stars in the USA? So she conveniently falls ill and exits just in time for the DWTS finale? Spare me!’

On Thursday night, Danielle Harold became the fifth contestant to be eliminated from the Australian jungle.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Friday at 9pm.
