A fresh face is poised to join the This Morning team, as the ITV show extends a warm welcome to the familiar guest, Sian Welby, who will step into the role of a main anchor.

Sian, aged 38, has been a frequent presence on This Morning since her introduction to the team in 2023. Notably, she spearheads various segments, including the popular “Sian’s What To Watch” list. However, recent revelations indicate that she has been invited to assume a more substantial role on the ITV show. She will now co-present several episodes alongside the show’s host, Dermot O’Leary.

According to an insider cited by MailOnline, “Sian has amassed many years of presenting experience; she is undeniably earmarked as a rising star for the future.”

The team remarked, “She has done exceptionally well on This Morning, and the decision was made to entrust her with the entire show rather than just specific segments. Viewers appreciate a fresh face on the show, and everyone involved is genuinely excited about it.”

Starting on Monday, 23 January, Sian will co-host This Morning alongside Dermot, 50. The announcement came through an Instagram post on 17 January, where the This Morning team stated, “Join @dermotleary and @sianwelby next week on #ThisMorning! Tune in on Monday from 10am on ITV1, ITVX, and STV.”

While Sian is a seasoned TV presenter, she is perhaps most widely recognised for her radio contributions. Formerly hosting her own radio show on Heart every Monday to Thursday, she presently co-hosts Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and Chris Stark.

Her journey with Channel 5 News began in 2010, where she served as the channel’s primary weather presenter until 2016. Sian has previously fronted cycling programmes for BT Sport, Eurosport, and ITV4, along with hosting Formula E’s TV show, Street Racers, on Channel 5.

Several guest presenters have taken the helm on This Morning since the departures of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in 2023. Phillip, aged 63, resigned in May following an affair with a younger colleague, described as ‘unwise but not illegal.’ Meanwhile, Holly, aged 42, stepped down in October after allegedly being the target of a kidnapping plot.

In the aftermath of their exits, the hosting duties on the ITV daytime show have been shared among various celebrities, including Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary, Cat Deeley, Rylan Clark, Craig Doyle, and Andi Peters.

After leaving This Morning, Holly maintained a low profile but returned to television on 14 January when she co-hosted Dancing on Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern, aged 46, who assumed Phillip’s role on the show.

In her return to television, Holly didn’t mention her recent break. Instead, she kicked off the show by saying, “Welcome to the greatest show on ice, and let’s give it up for our fantastic cast of 2024. They’re looking great! Also, a massive welcome to Stephen Mulhern!”

Making her comeback on television, Holly didn’t make any allusions to her recent absence. Instead, she started the show by saying, “Welcome to the greatest show on ice, and let’s applaud our amazing cast of 2024. They’re looking fantastic! Also, a warm welcome to Stephen Mulhern!”

Back on TV, Holly didn’t acknowledge her recent time away. Instead, she opened the show with, “Welcome to the greatest show on ice, and let’s give a round of applause for our incredible cast of 2024. They’re looking impressive! Also, a big welcome to Stephen Mulhern!”
