I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Frankie Dettori has been voted off the show, marking the first elimination of the series as the ITV programme made its return to TV screens on Sunday night (December 3). Hosted by Ant and Dec, the Geordie duo delivered the news to the departing campmate.

Over the past 24 hours, the public cast their votes to decide which celebrity they wanted to remain in the show. In the Australian jungle, the hosts disclosed that Frankie was the one to be leaving the camp.

Upon hearing the news, Frankie expressed, “Yes! I’m heading home, but I love you all. I’ll be watching you from the comfort of my seat. Just imagine the breakfast awaiting me.” Nigel Farage subsequently voiced his surprise at the outcome, stating, “This seems fixed, Frankie. You were last in and the first one out.”

Frankie became the first celeb to get voted off

Frankie ventured into the Australian jungle alongside Tony Bellew in the fifth episode. Viewers will remember their roles as coaches leading two teams competing in sports for sustenance.

Reflecting on his jungle stint with Ant and Dec, Frankie described it as “surreal” but admitted feeling a tad let down being the first to depart. He remarked, “It’s been incredibly surreal, an absolute adventure.

“The moment that struck me most was when we received the letters. It hits you that there’s a whole world out there and people are observing your journey.”

Frankie was disappointed to leave early

He remarked, “Emotions fluctuate; I’ve been on diets for three decades, but this takes it to a whole new level. Your body craves sustenance, and you feel it shutting down. Every time you get some rice, it revives you. It’s been quite a challenge, I’ll admit.”

When questioned about being the first well-known figure to depart, Frankie expressed, “Yes, I’m disappointed. However, I managed nearly two weeks and conquered my fears of confined spaces and snakes in the same task. I’ve encountered some remarkable individuals, and overall, it’s been an incredible experience.”

Towards the end of the conversation, the hosts inquired about his preference for the winner. Frankie responded, “I believe Sam will emerge victorious. He’s a vibrant character, larger than life, and completely eccentric.”

Ant and Dec revealed the news

During his stint on the programme, he bravely tackled the daunting Beds trial alongside Nella Rose, narrowly avoiding a snake’s attempt to make a home in his trousers. Regrettably, their efforts didn’t pay off, and they ended up empty-handed in terms of coins since their focus was on securing luxurious items.

In a separate part of the episode, Nella confronted her fears head-on during the Museum Bushtucker Trial, securing an impressive nine out of ten stars. In near darkness, her challenge involved scouring various display cabinets to locate hidden stars without any guiding lights.

Regrettably for the 26-year-old, her encounter involved more than just treasures on display. The environment featured various creatures, including critters, lizards, and earthworms.

Upon securing a commendable nine out of ten stars, Nella shared her post-experience thoughts: “It was genuinely frightening. I’m still shaking. The fear of the unknown hit me. I just recalled Tony; he truly believes in me and considers me the strongest woman on the planet. The confined space, you really pushed the boundaries there. In the pitch-black darkness, no less. But Tony Bellew and I faced it head-on, neck and neck.”
