Cyclone Jasper is currently heading swiftly towards Queensland, the state where the ITV show’s jungle is located, and is anticipated to make landfall along the coast next week.

Meteorologists predict that this tropical cyclone could escalate to category five – the highest level – by Thursday, bringing forth hurricane-force winds and substantial rainfall.

Producers of I’m A Celebrity are reportedly ‘keeping a close watch’ on the situation and might need to adjust the programme’s format as ‘ensuring the safety of the celebrities remains ITV’s top priority.’

The annual Celebrity Cyclone challenge, which involves the final four stars navigating a colossal slip-and-slide, could potentially be cancelled to safeguard the well-being of the campmates should the storm cause significant disruption.

Scheduled for Saturday’s show, the Bushtucker Trial is set to take place just days before Cyclone Jasper is expected to batter Australia.

A source informed The Sun: ‘This year, the celebrities have faced quite dreadful weather, and just as the sunshine emerged, things took a turn for the worse.’

‘ITV is prepared for all possibilities, but Cyclone Jasper could potentially be a complete disaster and cause significant disruption. The team is vigilantly observing and awaiting developments.’

I’m A Celebrity has encountered weather challenges this year, creating ideal conditions for blood-sucking leeches, among other issues.

MIC’s Sam Thompson, aged 31, and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard, aged 48, were specifically targeted by parasites who reportedly ambushed them unexpectedly.

Consequently, producers have had to caution celebrities to remain extremely alert in the presence of these unwelcome guests as their blood-sucking behaviour could deplete their already limited energy levels.

Moreover, this year, the celebrities have encountered not just these intruding creatures but also venomous snakes that descended on the jungle owing to the humid weather Down Under.

The programme’s Health and Safety Officer, Jeremy Douglas, mentioned, “We’ve encountered numerous snakes on the premises this year, potentially due to the high humidity.”

Jeremy elaborated to The Sun, “We’ve come across pythons and a variety of both venomous and non-venomous species. The prevalent ones include small-eyed snakes and brown tree snakes.”

Executive producer Laura Woolf confirmed there have been 15 instances of snake sightings.

Remaining in the jungle are Sam, Nick, Danielle Harold from EastEnders, Josie Gibson from This Morning, former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, JLS star Marvin Humes, and boxer Tony Bellew.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9 pm on ITV and ITVX.
