Holly Willoughby surprised viewers with her return to ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday, December 27th, featuring in a pre-recorded interview while hosts Emma Willis and Rylan Clark revisited the year’s highlights.

The segment showcased Holly and co-host Craig Doyle interviewing ‘Frozen’ star Idina Menzel, re-airing the interview to commemorate the popular film’s 10th anniversary.

Originally broadcast just two months after Holly’s longtime co-host Phillip Schofield departed amidst rumors of a rift with her, the re-showing marked a significant moment. Subsequently, Schofield resigned from ITV, acknowledging an “unwise but not illegal” involvement with a much younger male colleague.

Viewers of This Morning expressed delight at Holly’s brief comeback, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their excitement at catching a glimpse of her, despite it being a pre-recorded clip.

One fan shared a gif featuring a child shouting “YES!” along with the message: “HOLLY!! #ThisMorning.”

Speculation arose among some viewers, suggesting that ITV might be attempting to entice Holly back to the show. One comment read: “This seems like #thismorning is missing Holly,” while another stated: “Is this ITV’s way of asking Holly to return? [three laughing emojis] #ThisMorning.”

“#thismorning, are they pleading for Holly to come back or something…” chimed in a fourth viewer.

Holly revealed her exit from This Morning after the show placed her on “indefinite leave” due to an alleged plot involving ‘kidnap and murder’ aimed at her.

Recently spotted for the first time post-departure, the TV personality spent a day out in London at a cinema alongside her husband Dan Baldwin and friends.

There’s no confirmation yet regarding her return to host Dancing On Ice when the popular skating show resumes in the New Year.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Stephen Mulhern is set to step in as a replacement for Phillip Schofield on the show.

According to a source speaking to The Sun, there’s news that Stephen is set to host the show. The source mentioned, “Stephen has been the top choice to fill Phillip’s role for months, and ITV is delighted that everything’s settled and he’s all set to go.”

They added, “Stephen is immensely popular with viewers, a total pro, and to top it off, he’s got a long history of working with Holly—they both started their TV careers together.”

The source hinted that Stephen’s presence might be the “comfort” Holly needs and could up the chances of her returning to the skating rink.
