According to friends of food critic Grace Dent, they’ve disclosed the genuine reason behind her premature departure from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and asserted that she “couldn’t continue.”
The 50-year-old opted to exit the ITV show citing “medical grounds,” a decision that surprised her fellow campmates. Shortly after her unexpected departure, Grace was reportedly on a flight back to the UK.
Observant viewers noted Grace’s somber demeanor during the show, even outside of challenging Bushtucker trials. Allegedly, her close friends have validated fans’ worries, describing the MasterChef star as emotionally strained.
An insider informed The Sun: “She decided to leave because she simply couldn’t cope, mentally or physically. It’s been an immensely challenging experience for her, and it all became overwhelming. The harsh weather conditions, combined with demanding tasks and limited food, took a toll on her.”
“Grace possesses remarkable talent and holds a deep passion for politics. Her sense of defeat was evident when she didn’t engage in the activity. An insider disclosed, ‘In a few weeks, it will mark the first anniversary of her father, George’s, passing, undoubtedly weighing heavily on her.’
Following the announcement by presenters Ant & Dec that Grace was nominated for Sunday night’s trial, ‘Down The Tubes,’ she opted to withdraw. Witnesses noted her displaying a blank expression upon hearing her name, with friends suggesting it was the tipping point.”
Grace, a contestant on the popular ITV show, exhibited signs of distress during her time on the programme, confiding in co-star Josie Gibson about her desire to depart. She expressed, “I’ve reached my limit. Completely. I just want to return home.”
