Fred Sirieix exited the I’m A Celebrity jungle, becoming the third personality to depart after clashes with fellow campmates. He followed Nella Rose and Frankie Dettori, who were eliminated earlier this week.

Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears withdrew from the competition due to medical reasons last month, as reported by the Mirror.

Speaking on This Morning post-eviction, Fred addressed his time on the ITV show, joining Nella Rose’s live interview from Australia.

During his appearance, Fred admitted to receiving a scolding from his mother for disagreeing with Josie Gibson over cooking duties in the jungle.

Fans may recall Fred’s struggle when removed from kitchen duties, with Josie Gibson taking over. He frequently offered instructions, but his actions were met with criticism from viewers – and it seems his mother shared similar sentiments.

Fred disclosed, “This morning, I had a conversation with my mum. She called me as she knew I was out. She said, ‘Frederick’ – she only uses my full name when she’s upset – ‘Frederick, what did you do with Josie? Why were you instructing her from up there? What were you thinking?’ I received a scolding from my mum!”

” ‘Mum,’ I began, ‘it’s because—’ She cut me off sharply: ‘Frederick! I won’t hear it. This is unacceptable. You can’t do that, and I won’t tolerate a repeat today.’ Confused, I asked, ‘Mum, what do you mean?’ It seemed she couldn’t grasp that I had left the jungle; I was engaged in a game.

“I had to clarify, ‘Mum, I’m no longer in the jungle, so I won’t do it.’ Angrily, she warned, ‘Frederick, if you try that again—’ I interjected, ‘Mum, I promise I won’t. Next time Josie’s cooking, I’ll just sit quietly.’

“She responded, ‘That’s good, Frederick, but if you repeat it, I’ll be very upset!’ She was fuming! I reassured her, ‘Look, Mum, I won’t do it again.'”

Fred encountered various conflicts in the jungle: a misunderstanding with Nella, inadvertently offending the Youtube star, a debate with Nigel Farage on Brexit, and a disagreement with This Morning’s Josie over her cooking skills as the camp chef.

In discussing his disagreement with Nella on Wednesday, Fred stressed it was a misunderstanding, emphasising that the negative sentiment towards Nella post their argument was “unjust” and “misguided”.

He expressed, “From my perspective, it’s simply a misunderstanding, you see. When you’re all confined in the jungle, the pressure builds up! That’s just the way it goes. All I can say is I was quite taken aback by the backlash towards Nella upon my exit. I find it entirely unjust and unfair.” He continued, “Nella is a wonderful person; things happen, and life moves forward. Frankly, I’m not sure why there’s so much fuss about this!”

This news follows the confirmation of Fred’s departure from the show on Tuesday. The First Dates star bid a cordial but brief farewell to his fellow contestants before departing the jungle. Some viewers swiftly claimed that Fred seemed “livid” to be eliminated so early.

On Twitter, one user, now identified as X, remarked: “Fred definitely seemed agitated internally,” while another commented: “Fred is clearly disappointed.” Others expressed sadness at his departure, with one fan stating: “I admired his presence during his time in camp.” Another added: “Oh, what a pity! I understand he was a bit particular about cooking and challenges, but overall, he’s a good person, and I’m sorry to see Fred go.”

Speaking to Ant and Dec after departing from the camp on Tuesday, Fred expressed, “My time in the jungle has been an incredible journey. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some remarkable individuals. It feels like a completely different existence, and yet, here I am. I focused on living in the present, not concerning myself with what lay ahead. Preparation made it relatively straightforward for me.”

Fred also shared criticism regarding Josie’s cooking in the camp. Defending his stance, he remarked, “She improvises as she cooks. I believe there’s much at stake with our meals. It’s not solely about the immediate dishes, which are undoubtedly good due to the incredible produce, but also about what we can create the next day from the leftover ingredients and bones.”

Reflecting on disagreements with Farage concerning Europe and immigration, Fred commented, “There was camaraderie in camp as Nigel and I collaborated, gathering wood and water. However, there’s an aspect of Nigel Farage with which I cannot connect, and I doubt I ever will. He hasn’t convinced me to see things from his perspective, no matter our joint efforts.”
