Former Co-Star Believes Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield Joining Big Brother Would Be a ‘Fantastic’ Move
Following a hiatus, Big Brother is back, and it's kicking off with quite the dramatic entrance, as fissures in the house are already becoming evident.
In a recent statement, former Loose Women luminary, Saira Khan, opined that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield should be ensconced within the confines of the Big Brother residence.
This resurgent installment of the iconic reality show has lived up to the anticipated levels of entertainment. Saira herself partook in the celebrity iteration back in 2016, though the prospect of a resurgence of Celebrity Big Brother remains uncertain.
Were it to make a comeback, Saira surmises that Holly and Phil would constitute the quintessential occupants. Acknowledging the improbability of their participation, she asserts that the viewership would experience an exponential surge should they undertake this challenge.
In a conversation with Closer magazine, she remarked, “I’d relish the prospect of witnessing Holly [Willoughby] and Phil [Schofield] in that environment. Can you imagine? While the likelihood of this ever occurring is exceedingly slim, the viewership figures would undoubtedly skyrocket.”
Saira participated in the 18th series of the programme, sharing the stage with the likes of model Sam Fox, former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood, and the presently incarcerated Stephen Bear.
Her stint within the house was strenuous, culminating in a teary episode in the diary room on the third day, following a disagreement with Bear. She confessed that she hadn’t anticipated this emotional breakdown in such a brief span, but many attest to the show’s high-pressure atmosphere.
Saira was the second contestant to face eviction, but she has since conceded that her primary motive for joining the show was financial gain. Despite asserting that the experience was “priceless,” she also revealed that she was “compensated quite handsomely” and even secured a contract extension thereafter.
Big Brother has made a comeback after a hiatus since 2018 and has already embarked on a journey filled with dramatic twists. Despite resuming only this Sunday, it has already witnessed memorable incidents, including the detonation of suitcases, restrictions on hot water, and an incident now famously referred to as “salmon-gate.”
Contestant Olivia Young exhibited noticeable irritation when fellow housemate Farida Khalifa inquired about tasting some of her salmon. Olivia acquiesced, but her vexation surged when Farida double-dipped.
It wasn’t long before Olivia sought out the opinions of other contestants on the matter, a situation now ironically dubbed as “salmon-gate.”
