Football legend celebrates arrival of first child following absence from match due to personal reasons
Manchester United's Diogo Dalot joyfully welcomed his first child, a baby girl named Clara, with fiancée Claudia Pinto. His absence from a recent match was due to this exciting arrival.

Footballer Diogo Dalot became a father for the first time as he welcomed his baby girl, Clara, with his fiancée Claudia Pinto. The Manchester United and Portugal national team player had missed a recent match citing ‘personal reasons,’ which included being present for the birth of his child.
Dalot, 24, had withdrawn from the Euro qualifiers earlier in the week, informing head coach Roberto Martinez about Claudia’s imminent delivery. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the proud father shared a heartwarming black and white photo, featuring himself and Claudia holding their newborn daughter’s hand.
“Welcome to the world Clara. 15.11.2023,” announced Diogo in the caption, introducing his daughter to the world with pride.

Diogo and Claudia received an outpouring of warm wishes from friends and fans on social media, with many rushing to celebrate their new journey into parenthood.
Sergio Reguilón, a fellow player at Manchester United, shared: “Congratulations brother,” along with two red heart emojis. Eva Garcia, Alejandro Garnacho’s girlfriend, expressed her joy with: “Congratulations family!!! I wish you all the best”.
Fabrizio Romano welcomed the news, stating: “Welcome Clara!” The official Instagram account for Manchester United also chimed in, saying: “Congratulations to you both!”
Anouska Santos conveyed her well-wishes with: “Congratulations guys xx,” and Cam Reading joined in, adding: “Congratulations guys”.

Diogo was set to kick off both Euro 2024 qualifiers, but he left Portugal’s training camp, prompting an announcement about his departure. The statement explained: “Joao Mario will step in for his debut in the national team following his call-up this afternoon, taking over from Diogo Dalot.
“The Manchester United defender withdrew from the national team’s activities due to personal reasons, following discussions with national coach Roberto Martinez.”
Diogo and Claudia began their relationship in 2020, and their bond has only grown stronger since. Splitting their time between Portugal and England, the couple frequently indulges in luxurious getaways, including trips to Sardinia, Dubai, and Thailand.
In a mesmerising proposal last March, Diogo asked his girlfriend to marry him. He adorned a room with red rose petals, heart-shaped balloons, and illuminated letters spelling out ‘MARRY ME?’ at the centre.

“02.03.2020 marked the affirmative beginning of our lifelong journey,” Claudia penned on Instagram, revealing the joyous announcement.
In July, the couple shared the exciting news of expecting their first child through a collection of breathtaking photos, featuring Diogo tenderly embracing Claudia’s burgeoning baby bump.
