Female fatally shot and teenager wounded in incident in east London

A woman aged 42 passed away at the scene, while a man aged 20 and a boy aged 16 were transported to the hospital, as stated by the police.

In East London, a tragic shooting incident claimed the life of a 42-year-old woman on Tuesday evening. The Metropolitan Police responded to reports of gunfire at Vine Close, Hackney. Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics also rushed to the scene.

Despite efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the location. Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were transported to the hospital for assessment of their conditions.

As of now, no arrests have been made. The police have urged witnesses or anyone possessing information about the incident to come forward.

Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall expressed deep sorrow over the loss, extending sympathies to the bereaved family and expressing concern for the injured individuals. She stressed that a team of specialized detectives is actively investigating the incident’s circumstances. Police presence will persist at the scene, with ongoing efforts in the area in the days ahead.
