Police Seek Witnesses and Information After Fatal Stabbing in Enfield

Police were summoned to a scene at Lockhart Close, Enfield, at 19:28 on Friday, 1 March, following reports of a critically injured man in the communal area of a block of flats. Upon arrival, officers, alongside ambulance services, discovered a 66-year-old man with stab wounds. Despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the location.

It is believed by detectives that they have identified the man. Efforts are currently underway to locate and inform his next of kin. The process of formal identification and the scheduling of a post-mortem examination are expected to follow shortly.

DCI Laura Nelson of the Specialist Crime unit stated, “The victim was attacked with a knife inside one of the flats at Lockhart Close and was found in a critical state in the block’s communal area. We understand that this tragic event will cause considerable concern among the local community, and I want to reassure them that dedicated detectives are on the case. Our priority is to do everything within our power to apprehend the individual responsible for this heinous act.

“I would like to express my gratitude towards the local residents for their cooperation with the police last night and this morning as we began our investigation. They will notice a continued police presence in the area, including forensic teams and other specialist units, as we embark on what promises to be a thorough murder inquiry.

“I’m making an appeal for information from anyone who might have seen anything unusual in Lockhart Close, Derby Road, Lincoln Road, or the nearby areas on Friday evening. Did you notice anything or anyone out of the ordinary? If so, I urge you to contact the police.
