Last night’s episode of Emmerdale didn’t sit well with a number of ITV viewers, who have been quite vocal about their displeasure.

Fans were so incensed that they even threatened to stop watching, after condemning a specific scene as ‘illegal’.

The episode featured Gail belting out tunes in an impassioned karaoke session at the Woolpack, with Mandy Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield joining in the fun.

Viewers have been flocking to social media to express their opinions on the controversial singing incident, with one individual taking to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to exclaim: “Omg Gail!!! Shut up singing!”

Another expressed their dismay by writing: “Just had to leave the room to have my ears rearranged after that dubious karaoke performance!”

Meanwhile, another viewer made light of the situation, commenting: “We’ve had some noise complaints! From who? The viewers!”

“Karaoke, more like shut the f**k up,” criticised another, while a fifth contributor added: “This karaoke thing is cringe and annoying…”

Another person pondered: “How did Vanessa manage to sing so off-key yet receive nothing but praise?”

“Make it stop!” demanded another, with someone humorously suggesting: “Swirling needs to kick in the saloon doors and arrest Gail for crimes against music!”

Lastly, another commenter on X speculated: “I bet they all have really decent singing voices, but the show’s producers have instructed them to sound terrible.”

Michelle Hardwick, renowned for her role as Vanessa in the popular soap, has hinted at an intriguing storyline that could see her character entangled in a love triangle involving Suzy and Mary.

She revealed, “Vanessa’s return is a significant moment, particularly because when we last saw her, things between her and Suzy were left on a rather hopeful note. Despite their separation, their parting kiss was quite touching.”

Hardwick further elaborated, “With Vanessa stepping back into the village, she’s blissfully unaware of the potential dynamics brewing between Suzy and Mary, the latter of whom she regards almost like a mother. This complete lack of awareness could lead to some interesting developments, especially as Vanessa attempts to reignite the spark with Suzy, regardless of Suzy’s own feelings. It’s a situation ripe with anticipation.”

After a break to embrace motherhood, Michelle has made a celebrated return to Emmerdale. Reflecting on her comeback, she expressed, “It’s absolutely wonderful to be back. I hadn’t realised just how much I missed this place. Settling back in has been a breeze; it feels as though I never left. Despite my initial concerns about picking up scripts again, the transition has been smooth.”

ITV has been approached by News Prime for a statement on the matter.
