Danielle Harold seemed eager to return to the UK as she effortlessly navigated Brisbane Airport, accompanied only by her I’m A Celebrity hat perched atop her suitcases.

The 31-year-old EastEnders actress donned a simple, comfortable grey t-shirt and shorts as she rolled her luggage towards the departure lounge. Despite most of her face being shielded by oversized aviators, she managed a smile and a wave to photographers, looking somewhat fatigued after days of revelry.

As the fifth star to exit, Danielle made the most of her stay at the luxurious JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort hotel. Alongside her fellow contestants, she relaxed by the pool, sipping on an array of cocktails. During this time, she appeared to develop a bond with campmate Pete Wicks, a close friend of Made in Chelsea star and winner Sam Thompson, who had flown to Australia to support him.

While many I’m A Celeb contestants were met by their partners upon leaving the camp, 31-year-old Sam chose to have 35-year-old Pete greet him instead of his girlfriend, recent Strictly contestant Zara McDermott, 26. During Danielle’s three days of leisure, she and Pete were seen in affectionate embraces, engaging in what appeared to be intimate conversations.

Body language expert Judi James, speaking to the Mirror, suggested that there were numerous indications hinting at a potential blossoming relationship between the pair, going as far as to comment that they “make a lovely couple.” However, James also cautioned that these signs could purely be innocent gestures.

Later on, all the stars, excluding Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears who had left early, gathered at the lively wrap party, where selfies were abundant as the celebrities revelled in dancing throughout the night. As the evening drew to a close, Sam appeared visibly fatigued, leaning his head on Pete’s shoulder, perhaps in need of some rest.

Following his victory on the show, Sam spoke to Lorraine Kelly about why Zara couldn’t join him in Australia, due to her commitments on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. He shared that despite conflicting schedules, witnessing Zara and their family’s reaction to his win was incredibly moving.

Reflecting on the moment, Sam admitted he hadn’t fully checked his phone but had glimpsed a clip that brought him to tears. He expressed overwhelming gratitude for the immense support from his loved ones, friends, and colleagues, highlighting how unique and fortunate he feels to have such a remarkable support system.

Later in the show, a heartwarming surprise awaited as Zara sent a touching message expressing immense pride in Sam’s conduct in the jungle. She praised his ability to create a comfortable atmosphere, describing him as uniquely wonderful and expressing her deep affection. Sam, visibly moved, expressed his longing to reunite with her, confessing how much he misses her and eagerly anticipates returning home.
