Dame Joan Collins, aged 90, offers a touching peek into her family Christmas celebrations

 

Joan Collins recently gave us a peek into her Christmas Day celebration through Instagram, surrounded by her husband Percy Gibson, her rarely-seen brother Bill, and other close family members.

Despite being 90 years old, Joan exuded the spirit of the season, dressed in a vibrant red roll-neck jumper. She complemented her outfit with a striking cross necklace and sparkling earrings, while elegantly tying back her dark hair into a chic bun. Later, she added a touch of opulence with a brown fur gilet.

Percy, Joan’s husband, joined in the festive cheer, posing playfully beneath the Christmas tree sporting a fur Santa hat.

Joan took to Instagram with the caption: “Yet another wonderful family gathering on Christmas Day, graciously hosted by my sister-in-law Hazel and brother Bill. Among those present were daughter Katy, Barry Langford, Umair Asanti, Ivan Massow, godson Theo, and friend Alan.”

Last year, Joan and Percy marked their 20th wedding anniversary. Originally hailing from Peru, Percy stands as a prominent Hollywood producer, renowned for his contributions to “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”

Despite their 31-year age gap, Percy, Joan’s fifth husband, has played a substantial role in her life. Her prior marriages include Maxwell Reed, Anthony Newley, Ron Kass, and Peter Holm.

Joan has frequently praised Percy, speaking warmly about him and expressing her profound affection and appreciation for his support in an interview with Saga magazine.

“Joan commended his handling of our finances and his care for my children,” she remarked, expressing admiration for his role. “He means everything to me. Our marriage and relationship are wonderful.”

Their love story burgeoned from a solid base of friendship and grew stronger over the years. Their choice to wed was partly shaped by a pivotal moment when Percy’s altered plans spared him from being near the World Trade Center on 9/11.

In her memoir “Behind The Shoulder Pads,” Joan portrays Percy as ‘the most exceptional lover I’ve ever known,’ emphasizing the depth and closeness they shared in their relationship.

She attributes a key factor to their successful marriage as having separate bathrooms, recognizing their fortunate situation.
