During a task, Levi mentioned that he used to consider Colson the ‘most boring’ housemate, but he stated that his opinion had since changed.

Fellow housemate Fern Britton promptly pointed out that no one else in the house had ever found Colson boring, while Nikita Kuzmin and Bradley Riches were swift to console the actor after discovering him crying in the toilet.

On social media, Colson’s Corrie co-stars rushed to his defence. Bethany Platt actress Lucy Fallon shared a clip of the incident, indicating that she was considering intervening, along with some punching hand emojis.

In a different instance, she posted a photo of a cardboard cutout of Colson in her living room, adding the caption: “Being a decent, ordinary person doesn’t mean you’re dull. You might be irritating, but you’re never dull.”

Meanwhile, Sally Ann Matthews, known for her role as Jenny Connor, admitted she braced herself before watching the episode. She shared a preview clip of Colson in tears with the caption, “Furious.”

Colson’s close friend and co-star, Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt in Coronation Street, made an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother: Late and Live following the incident. He expressed his belief that Levi ‘had a point’ and speculated that Colson’s kindness might have been misunderstood.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Jack, along with Ben Price, who portrays Nick Tilsley, defended Colson against accusations that his tears were strategic gameplay. Ben emphasised Colson’s genuine nature, stating that his emotional moment wasn’t staged as he was unaware of being on camera. Jack added that Colson didn’t retreat to the diary room to cry.

The support for Colson to win Celebrity Big Brother is evident among his Coronation Street colleagues, as Ben publicly endorsed him during their appearance on the ITV breakfast show. The question remains: will Colson emerge victorious?

Leading bookmaker Coral now lists Colson as the favourite to win, with odds at 7-4 following a surge in support for the actor. Coral spokesperson John Hill attributed this support to Colson’s popularity in the CBB house.

The speculation continues: could Colson Smith clinch the title?
