The replacement for Grace Dent on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ has been unveiled following her sudden departure from the jungle on Monday morning (November 27).

At 50 years old, Dent had been a participant in the current ITV series but exited the show due to “medical grounds”. Viewers weren’t entirely surprised by the decision as they had been expressing concerns about Dent’s weight loss.

The public had voted for food critic Grace to take on the upcoming Bushtucker trial named ‘Down the Tubes’. She was slated to join This Morning host Josie Gibson in the trial.

However, fans became worried about Grace’s well-being when she appeared largely unfazed by the news of facing another trial to procure food for the camp. During Ant and Dec’s visit, she remained subdued and didn’t engage much when the hosts checked in on the group.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed Grace’s departure from the show, citing medical reasons. They praised her contributions as a campmate and expressed sentiments about her being missed by both fellow celebrities and viewers.

The news unfolded live on Good Morning Britain, with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley sharing the update. Earlier in the show, showbiz reporter Richard Arnold hinted at the situation, later returning to affirm Grace’s exit during the programme.

Reporting from the Gold Coast, near the jungle camp, Richard highlighted speculation on social media about Grace’s health and demeanor among her campmates. He noted that her departure created an open spot for a trial on the show.

Speaking over a video link from his hotel, Richard expressed, ‘Seems like the straw that broke the camel’s back was being chosen for the upcoming trial. Officially, all we’re aware of is her departure after 10 days due to medical reasons.’

This prompted ITV executives to intervene and find a replacement for the trial, ensuring food for the camp. Arnold disclosed that they’ve already secured a substitute.

‘While Josie will tackle the Down The Tubes trial, she won’t be doing it solo. Despite Grace leaving camp, I can exclusively reveal that Danielle Harold was the third most-voted campmate for tonight’s trial. So, it’ll be Danielle and Josie taking it on.’
