Charlie Hunnam found himself hospitalised due to a sudden and severe illness. Despite the health setback, the 43-year-old actor, determined to attend the premiere of his new film ‘Rebel Moon’ in Los Angeles on Wednesday (13.12.23), chose to discharge himself from the London hospital. Hunnam, known for his commitment to work, emphasized that he has never missed a single hour of work throughout his entire 25-year career.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, he shared, “I became incredibly sick and was in the hospital in London just 32 hours ago. I checked out of the hospital just to come here. The past 48 hours have been a real trial, but here we are. We’re here, we’re smiling. I am proud to say that in 25 years, I have never missed an hour of work in my career. I just show up no matter what.”

On a different note, the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star reminisced about his early breakthrough at the age of 18, portraying the character of gay teenager Nathan Maloney in the cult series ‘Queer As Folk.’ The show, which later spawned a US version, marked a significant moment in Hunnam’s career, transitioning from relative obscurity to Hollywood success. Reflecting on the possibility of a reunion, he expressed his enthusiasm, stating that he would “love” to participate.

In an interview with British GQ, Hunnam mentioned, “Around the time of the 25th anniversary [of the original ‘Queer as Folk’], while it never came to anything, there was a very brief exploratory conversation about everybody’s appetite to come back for a reunion. I’d love to do [something like] that.”

Recalling his experience on the groundbreaking show, he added, “I mean, I had absolutely no idea [how popular the show would be]. I was plucked from total obscurity. I was a virgin who knew nothing about the world, at all – from this little town in the Lake District to being thrust into that. So there’s a part of it that felt like it would just be lovely to go back and play with all of those wonderful, talented people, now with some experience under my belt. Being able to make the most of the experience, rather than just trying not to drown.”
