The rift between the two began when Fred inadvertently offended the YouTuber by joking about his age, unintentionally striking a nerve as her own father had passed away some years before.

After being elected camp leader, Nella sought retribution against Fred, whom she believed had made her time in camp unbearable.

Assigning washing up duties, she announced, “Fred and [Nigel] Farage, you’re on washing up duty. You seem to enjoy undoing the work of those who’ve cleaned and tossing things onto the muddy floor, so now the roles are reversed.”

In conversation with fellow contestants Sam and Danielle later on, Nella expressed, “Fred has made things incredibly difficult for me, and I’ve tried to remain silent. It feels like karma has caught up with him.”

Following their exit from the show, both Nella and Fred clarified that their apparent feud was merely a colossal misunderstanding.

Appearing via video link on This Morning, Fred addressed presenters Rylan Clark and Emma Willis, saying, “To me, it’s simply a misunderstanding. The jungle puts immense pressure on everyone, and things get misconstrued.”

Expressing surprise at the negativity directed towards Nella after his departure, he remarked, “I find it entirely unjustified and not representative of my sentiments. I’ve spoken out against this unfairness in my recent interviews.”

“I shall say no more on that matter. Nella is a delightful young woman, and these things happen; one must move forward.

“To be frank, I’m unsure why there’s such a commotion.

“Nella confided in Rylan and Emma that Fred’s remarks regarding her father were distressing, yet she acknowledged it as a mere misinterpretation.

“The jungle environment amplifies everything,” she clarified, attributing part of the situation to the nature of live TV.

Nella continued, “I haven’t had the chance to review any footage yet.

“However, I am fully aware of all that transpired.

“It’s simply a significant misunderstanding – we’ve managed to resolve it.”

Fred disclosed his motivation for agreeing to participate in the show stemmed from a desire for a “challenge” and a “test”.

“When I discovered I was heading into the jungle, I endured three months of nightmares, haunted by visions of bugs,” he revealed.

“The idea plagued my sleep; I’d wake up and imagine them on my pillow. This spurred my preparation.

“[…] I dedicated six months to intense training to ready myself. The jungle, unlike what viewers witness on television, is a vast and demanding terrain.

“For instance, fetching wood or water entails a strenuous journey downhill and then a laborious ascent.

“With sustenance limited to rice and beans, maintaining sufficient calories and energy becomes essential.

“By day’s end, one moves at a sluggish pace, the exertion proving immensely challenging.”

The next episode of ‘I’m a Celebrity’ airs tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
