BBC EastEnders’ enthusiasts suspect that a significant revelation might have slipped through in the new Christmas trailer, potentially hinting at a shocking demise.

The song resonating from the jukebox in the clip seems to hold a crucial clue regarding who might be involved in a fatal incident in Albert Square this Christmas. A keen-eyed viewer has drawn a connection between this scene and a prior episode of the BBC soap involving one of the suspects, as reported by The Mirror.

Speculation is rife online, spurred by hints from various episodes and trailers. Some fans strongly believe that one or possibly two of the suspects will emerge as the perpetrator(s) during this festive season. Although a song plays on the jukebox in the trailer, most of the other tracks remain unseen and indecipherable.

One observant viewer managed to identify the song being played and realised its significance, having been featured in a past, potentially pivotal scene. Sharing their deduction on X, the viewer remarked: “ON THE JUKEBOX IN THE TRAILER, ‘IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER’ IS PLAYING.

“FLASHBACK TO THIS SCENE BETWEEN DENISE AND KIM IN DECEMBER (!!!!!!!!) 2020 – ‘IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER’ IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND.” In the 2020 scene, Denise was fraught with worry over the reappearance of her former partner, the serial killer Lucas Johnson.

Denise was determined to thwart his desires, asserting it was “all about power,” positioning herself as Lucas’ “weakness.” She made reference to the time he imprisoned her and staged her demise, an event that led the townsfolk to attend her funeral.

It appears that the majority of the suspects possess commanding personalities, such as Nish Panesar and Dean Wicks, or have perpetrated heinous deeds involving the six individuals under scrutiny. If the song clue, with its presumed significance, is considered, it strongly suggests Denise could be the perpetrator.

Recently, Denise had a confrontation with Ravi Gulati. With her marriage to Jack Branning on shaky ground, could one of these individuals become the victim as Denise takes on the role of the assailant? Additionally, there are suspicions raised by peculiarities related to the jukebox, implying Kathy Beale might also be considered a suspect in the case.

In a recent behind-the-scenes segment, actress Gillian Taylforth was seen with the words “Jukebox Gilly” on her dressing room door. The prominence of the jukebox in the trailer has led fans to speculate that Kathy might be the killer, or that she and Denise could potentially collaborate in perpetrating a crime.

One viewer on X remarked, drawing connections to a previous scene: “DENISE AND KATHY WERE THE ONES NEAR THE JUKEBOX IN THE FF EP. COULD THEY BE THE KILLERS??” Another commented: “It seems likely to be Denise or Kathy. It just does.”

A third viewer mentioned: “I had this thought that emerged as a buried memory. Found it on Twitter too! It might seem far-fetched, but what if this has some relevance? Gilly T = ‘Jukebox Gilly’ = Killer Kathy?”
