Ashley Jensen from ‘Shetland’ ties the knot with Kenny Doughty from ‘Vera’ in a hush-hush wedding ceremony.

 

Actress Ashley Jensen, famed for her roles in Netflix’s “Afterlife” and the BBC drama “Shetland,” reportedly tied the knot with her longtime partner Kenny Doughty in a hush-hush ceremony.

The couple, who crossed paths while working on the BBC drama “Love, Lies And Records,” apparently opted for an understated wedding at Priston Mill near Bath this past August.

As per a close acquaintance, the 54-year-old Ashley looked stunning in an off-white gown adorned with floral embroidery, paired with coral platform sandals.

The ceremony was described as brimming with love and joy, with Ashley’s 14-year-old son from her prior marriage, Francis, gracing the occasion.

“During the affair, there was a heartwarming moment when Francis joined Ashley and Kenny for some photos,” revealed a friend to The Mail on Sunday.

They shared with the publication: “The day was absolutely stunning. Ashley looked incredibly happy, beaming with smiles and laughter—it was simply picturesque. The room seemed filled with an abundance of love.”

Recently, Ashley, known for her roles in ‘Ugly Betty’ and ‘Extras’, stirred engagement speculations when she attempted to conceal her left hand during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show.

The insider further revealed about Ashley and Kenny: “He’s been an incredible pillar of support for her over the past few years. They make a delightful pair, and all their friends are absolutely thrilled for them.”

The actress underwent a devastating experience when her husband, Terence Beesley, passed away in 2017 at their family home in Camerton, near Bath. This tragic event left Ashley and their then eight-year-old son, Francis, grappling with profound loss.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, Terence was pronounced dead at the scene. An inquest later determined that the 60-year-old had taken his own life. At the Avon Coroner’s Court, Ashley conveyed her heartbreak, expressing that the memory of that day would forever remain with her.

Describing her late husband as “independent and outgoing,” she shared, “Terry and I had been together for 18 years, but I had no inkling of what he was capable of.” Ashley revealed that she had been in communication with Terence through text and email on the day of his passing, admitting she was “extremely shocked by what happened that night.”

She and Terence met for the first time in 1999 during their participation in a production of King Lear.
