Helen George, known for her role as Trixie Franklin in BBC’s ‘Call the Midwife’, has parted ways with her co-star Jack Ashton. Despite this, she emphasized that their mutual children are their top priority. Helen shares two daughters with Jack Ashton, who portrayed Rev Tom in the series.

Sharing the news online, Helen stated, “Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy as we embark on this new chapter.”

Before her relationship with Jack, she was married to Oliver Boot, but they parted ways in 2015. Reflecting on her divorce, Helen mentioned, “Going through a divorce is an awful experience.”

She also revealed that shortly after her divorce, she was approached to participate in Strictly Come Dancing, viewing it as a form of therapeutic distraction following the challenging period.

She explained, “I was approached to join Strictly, and oddly enough, I saw it as a form of therapy post-divorce. I’d heard from several people how much it had helped them during tough times. It’s a focused journey, quite an emotional one. I was so unaware that anyone would find me interesting, so that was surprising. I quickly realised I didn’t want all the celebrity attention.”

The 39-year-old actor is now shining on stage in the new production of The King and I. Speaking with The Times, Helen shared, “Her story resonates with me deeply. As a single mother, I carry financial responsibility for both my children. There’s no partner in my life presently, much like Anna. So, I felt a strong connection, especially now.”

Recently, sightings of Helen and her co-star Rix have surfaced, as The Sun reported. Rix recently became single following the end of his relationship with Natasha Fagri.

The Christmas special of Call the Midwife, set in 1968, brought some delightful and intriguing insights ahead of its airing, shared by Helen.

Speaking with the Manchester Evening News, Helen expressed, “It’s wonderful that Call The Midwife has become a staple of TV viewing. This Christmas marks Matthew and Trixie’s inaugural celebration as a family with Jonty [Matthew’s young son from a previous marriage], following their wedding. It’s a particularly special time as they truly solidify as a unit. Trixie’s brother makes a return too, and continuing that storyline was immensely enjoyable. Christmas and Geoffrey simply complement each other wonderfully!”
