Abbey Clancy is said to have expressed interest in a “guest” presenter role on This Morning following Holly Willoughby’s departure as the permanent host. The 37-year-old star appears keen on taking up a position on the immensely popular daytime TV show and has even expressed a desire for her husband, Peter Crouch, to join her.

ITV is still in the process of searching for a permanent replacement for the series, following Holly’s unexpected departure just over a month ago. This came after she discovered there had been a plot to kidnap and harm her.

The Dancing On Ice presenter took her final bow on the programme after her former co-host and close friend, Phillip Schofield, stepped down in May after 21 years. At the time, he confessed to having had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger colleague.

Now, it is reported that Abbey has made it clear that she aspires to be part of This Morning, where she would co-host as a guest alongside her England footballer husband.

According to a source who spoke with The Sun, “A guest appearance would be an excellent option. Given that she and Peter form the quintessential duo on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, they could be the perfect match while the search for a more permanent solution continues.

“For Abbey, her children are always her top priority. With such a busy schedule at the moment, taking on a commitment like This Morning would naturally be a significant undertaking.”

Another insider also shared with the publication that there is a “genuine need” to find a host with a “vibrant personality,” and TV personality Abbey might be the “ideal choice.”

They further expressed that having Abbey involved in the programme “in any capacity” would be the ideal scenario, and having Peter join as well would be an “extraordinary” achievement.

While viewers eagerly await ITV’s decision on the show’s future direction, there has been a groundswell of support for Rylan Clark, 35, and Josie Gibson, 38, to take the helm following their stellar joint performance last week.

Rylan’s much-anticipated return to the screen was met with widespread enthusiasm, as fans celebrated the revival of his distinctive humour and infectious energy.

The natural rapport and chemistry between Rylan and Josie left viewers thoroughly entertained.

“I haven’t been tuning into #ThisMorning for a while, but today with Rylan, Josie & Gok feels like a breath of fresh air,” shared one individual on X, previously known as Twitter, at the time.

Another fan expressed their delight: ‘So pleased to see @Rylan back on #ThisMorning @thismorning – a perfect duo with #Josie @Josiestweet.’

A third supporter chimed in, praising Rylan and Josie as the ideal combination for morning presenters. ‘Down to earth, humble, and funny! It’s so refreshing to watch,’ they enthused.

ITV executives were reportedly ‘thrilled’ at Rylan’s return, with a source affirming that he is ‘immensely popular with the British public’ and ‘adored’.

‘This Morning producers are absolutely delighted to have him back after such a long break. He’ll be joining forces with Josie and he’s over the moon,’ they continued. ‘The two of them are bound to have a great time together, and ITV bosses are confident they’ll be a real hit with the viewers.’
