A teenager has been accused of murder after a man tragically passed away at a hotel in Weymouth
A man faces a murder charge after another man died at a hotel in Weymouth.
“Dorset Police received a report at 11:07 pm on Saturday, 30th December 2023, regarding an incident at Hotel Central on Maiden Street where a man urgently needed medical help.
Tragically, Daniel Mark Hrycyszyn, aged 35 from Weymouth, was declared deceased at the scene shortly after midnight on Sunday, 31st December 2023.
His family has been notified, and our officers are in constant communication, keeping them informed about the ongoing investigation.
Following thorough investigations by Dorset Police detectives, five men were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Among them, 19-year-old Joe Michael Williams from Weymouth has been charged with murder. He is scheduled to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 3rd January 2024.
The remaining four individuals arrested have been released from the investigation without facing any charges.
Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, from the MCIT, expressed heartfelt condolences to Daniel’s family during this incredibly challenging period.
“We’ve conducted extensive inquiries into this tragic incident, working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service. Following their authorization, Joe Michael Williams faces a murder charge.
“As legal proceedings are underway, we’ll refrain from further comment. It’s essential that the justice system follows its course uninterrupted,” stated Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins.
