Tributes Paid to Woman Who Died in Alleged Home Attack

Friend Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Diane Cleary, Describing Her as a 'Warrior' and 'Incredible Loss'

A woman who tragically passed away following an alleged attack has been remembered as a “warrior” whose “courage knew no bounds,” according to a close friend.

Diane Cleary, 46, died after what Bedfordshire Police described as “an altercation” at a house on Turners Road North in Luton on Monday.

Aimi Rix shared that there were not enough words to express the “incredible loss” of her “beautiful friend Diane.”

In honour of Ms Cleary, her family announced plans to light lanterns in her memory at Lea Manor Field in the city on Saturday.

The police were called to the scene at 11:45 GMT and confirmed that a woman had suffered fatal injuries, while another woman, in her 20s, was also hurt.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Paying tribute to her friend, Ms Rix told that Ms Cleary was “the best friend anyone could ask for, kind and loving, loyal to a fault.”

She continued: “Diane could change the atmosphere in a room with her glowing smile and infectious laugh. She had a resilience like no one I’ve known, always finding the positives in the toughest situations.”

“She never realised how beautiful she truly was, which only added to her charm… Diane had twinkling blue eyes, cheekbones, and dimples – a feature she passed down to her beautiful children.”

“But more than that, when she smiled, she captivated the room. She was such fun to be around, could start a party in a broom cupboard. This fun-loving, bubbly girl became my best friend – a strong woman, a fierce protector, and a warrior. Her courage knew no bounds.”
