Two Men Accused of Murder After South Manchester Man's Death

Police have reported that Sadiq Al-lami tragically lost his life following an attack that occurred when two vehicles halted at traffic lights on the A34 Kingsway in Didsbury, during the early hours of the 23rd of January.

In connection with the murder of Sadiq Al-lami, Abdul Wahab Babar, aged 18, along with 24-year-old Sikander Babar, have been charged. Both individuals, residing at Ashfield Drive in Newton Heath, are set to make their initial court appearance at Manchester Magistrates Court on Thursday, the 1st of February.

Also implicated in the case are Sultan Bakr, 22, from Hyde Road, Gorton, and Noraiz Kamal, 18, from Highbank Drive, Manchester, both of whom have been previously charged with murder. Noraiz Kamal was present at Manchester Crown Court this Tuesday, where it was decided that his trial would commence in July.

Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team continues to urge the public to come forward with any relevant information. They are particularly interested in anyone who may possess CCTV or dashcam footage, or who witnessed anything that could be of assistance to the investigation. Those with information are encouraged to contact the police by dialling 101 and referencing log 166 of 23/01/2024.
